Tories planning tax cuts to create new sales jobs

The Conservative party has revealed that it plans to cut business taxes in order to encourage new business enterprises and create more jobs.

Delegates at the Tory party conference in Manchester were told by shadow chancellor George Osborne that the party would waive national insurance for employees of new businesses set up under the Conservatives.

"Any new business created in the first two years of a Conservative government will pay no tax on the new people that they employ," he added.

The shadow chancellor said the funded tax cut would be a "huge boost" to enterprise.

Mr Osborne also commented that the scheme will help to create up to 60,000 new sales jobs, as well as making it clear that the UK was open for business.

"Our message will be: Invest here, set up a business here, come and make your enterprise, here we will support you," he said.

John Cridland, head of the CBI business group, welcomed the proposals, saying that many businesspeople are put off hiring their first employee in sales jobs by the sheer level of taxes and red tape.
