Waitrose to boost sales jobs sector

Supermarket chain Waitrose is planning to open around 300 stores, creating thousands of sales jobs in the process.

The company said that there are about 6.5 million shoppers in the UK without easy access to one of its stores and it wants to change that.

Waitrose will also be boosting its relationship with pharmacist Boots, which will create positions for people looking for medical sales jobs.

The two businesses are currently in the process of re-branding Boots UK to Boots Pharmacy which will be present in 13 Waitrose stores by the end of November.

Mark Price, managing director at Waitrose, said that the company had broadened the appeal of its brand with innovations such as Essential Waitrose, the line of cheaper products.

He added: "By opening up these new channels and formats, we will be making Waitrose accessible to more customers in more places and we'll be able to create thousands of new sales jobs."

Waitrose also said that the two stores which it had opened at motorway service stations recently had created 50 sales jobs and reached up to nine million motorists.
